History of architecture and art: antiquity, the Middle Ages and the early modern period
The professors, lecturers and contributors in this field in particular conduct research and teaching on architectural production and figurative art from antiquity until the dawn of the early modern period (18th–early 19th century).
The transformations of the formal and typological vocabulary of monuments and artworks, the roles of artists, architects and clients, are analysed and examined in their specific historical, political and social context with particular reference to the Mediterranean, transalpine and European regions.
