History of modern and contemporary architecture and art
The professors, lecturers and collaborators in this field conduct research and teaching on architectural production and figurative art from the late Age of Enlightenment until the contemporary period.
The transformations of the formal and typological language of architecture, design and the visual arts are analysed in their historical, social and political contexts, with an approach that seeks to investigate the continuity and disruptions that characterised the architectural and artistic culture of the 20th century in relation to previous centuries, together with the issues of structure, function and aesthetics through which the identity and images of modernity have been constructed and whose effects can be registered in contemporary design and critical activity and in the global society of the present.
