Visual arts in the 20th and 21st centuries
The professors, lecturers and collaborators in this field conduct research and teaching in the visual arts of the 20th century and in our own time.
In addition to the relation that contemporary art, in its various acceptations, from the figurative to the performing arts, establishes with history and tradition, this field investigates the role that the arts of modernity, such as photography and cinema in particular, have played and continue to perform as an instrument for the documentation, promotion and aestheticisation of the architectural work.
We also investigate the assumptions of major theorists and the implications of critical reflection as a stimulus to interpreting the multiple perspectives opened up by contemporary visual cultures.
